BuildingCenter processes its customers’ data as the controller and in compliance with the stipulations of the data protection legislation in force at any given time.

In accordance with Article 6.1.f) of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation), BuildingCenter processes its customers’ data based on legitimate interest both for commercial purposes and for internal management; in any case, it has suitably weighted the interests in order to protect its customers’ fundamental rights and interests.

Use with a commercial purpose based on legitimate interest

Unless the customer has stipulated or stipulates otherwise, BuildingCenter will:

• Send them updates and information regarding promotions or similar services to those they have already taken out.

• Use its customers’ information to personalise their experience with the company, e.g. to offer products and services that fit their profile or to give them benefits or promotions that may be valid at any given time to which they may have a right.

Use for the purpose of internal management based on legitimate interest

BuildingCenter deems that it has a legitimate right to process its customers’ data based on legitimate interest for certain purposes regarding internal management in which it does not conduct any direct actions over the data subject and, therefore, its customers’ rights and interests are not harmed.

• Monitoring compliance with the targets set for its employees.

• Payment of incentives and/or bonuses for managing and marketing real-estate assets.

Both for use with a commercial purpose and for the purpose of internal management, no information is used other than that provided by customers or generated from the products or services purchased in the previous year.
